Instant Pot Jasmine Rice

This easy Instant Pot Jasmine Rice recipe is ready in just a few minutes and is perfect for Asian inspired recipes or any recipe with rice!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups jasmine rice
  • 2 cups water see notes
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Add the rice to a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cool running water until the water runs clear.
  • Add the rinsed rice to the Instant Pot along with the water, oil or butter, and salt.
  • Cover with the lid, set the vent to sealing, and pressure cook on high for 3 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes and then quick release any remaining pressure.
  • Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Notes

This recipe is easy to scale up or down depending on how much rice you need. You’ll want equal parts rice and liquid.
This recipe will make about 4 cups of rice. We use only do around 1/2 cup servings on rice, but if you like bigger servings plan accordingly. 
For a basic jasmine rice, we use water as the liquid. For something more flavorful, we’ll use chicken or veggie broth for the liquid.
