1cupuncooked long grain white ricenot instant rice
10.5ouncecan condensed French Onion Soup
10ouncesbeef broth
4tablespoonsbutter
1/2cupshredded gruyere cheesecan sub mozzarella, swiss, or parmesan
minced parsleyfor garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Add the rice, onion soup, and broth to a 9x9 baking dish.
Slice the butter into pats and place on top of the rice.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 30 minutes.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top and let sit for 5 minutes. Stir to combine and sprinkle with the parsley before serving.
Notes
Be sure to use long grain white rice for this recipe. Instant rice and brown rice will not work.The cheese is totally optional, but we love the creaminess it adds to the rice.
