I recently sailed on the Caribbean Princess and I’m going to share all of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat! Big thanks to Princess for sponsoring this trip and this blog post.
It should come as no surprise to anyone that one of my very favorite parts of traveling is getting to experience new foods.
I collect favorite restaurants like some people collect sea shells.
Today, I’m going to share with you all of my favorite foods from our recent trip aboard the Caribbean Princess.
The Caribbean Princess has plenty of options – from the standard cruise buffet situation that we all love to the most delicious Italian restaurant and everything in between.
Princess offers many restaurants that are included in the price of the cruise, including the World Fresh Marketplace (the buffet), their traditional dining rooms, the Salty Dog Grill, Slice Pizzeria, and room service – and they all come with a view. 😉
Princess also has quite a few specialty restaurants. You’ll have to pay a cover charge to enjoy a meal at these restaurants, but I’m here to tell you that I believe it’s worth it. We ate at Plank’s BBQ, Crown Grill, and Sabatini’s. Steamer’s is another option, but we’re not big on seafood so we skipped this one.
A few of the foods that you absolutely must not miss on this ship:
The Rocher, one of Norman Love’s Chocolate Journeys’ creations, was just the best thing we ate on the entire trip and, even though you will be so stuffed after enjoying the house-made fresh pasta at Sabatini’s, I urge you to just order the dang dessert. You’ll regret it if you don’t.
Hazelnut ice cream, chocolate ganache, candied hazelnuts, and more chocolate. You can’t go wrong here.
The International Cafe is the place to stop a few times a day. Their goodies change throughout the day, with pastries and donuts at breakfast, small sandwiches and light items for a quick lunch, and sweet treats all afternoon.
This little cheesecake was a total delight, as was everything else we grabbed from here.
My husband ran down to the International Cafe every morning for coffee and donuts while I slept in. I’d wake up when he delivered my goodies to me in bed. Heaven.
This little pastry, drizzled with chocolate and studded with raspberries, was my favorite.
Be sure to grab a burger from Salty Dog Grill…and don’t skip the chili cheese fries. Their cheese sauce is tasty!
The pizza at Slice Pizzeria is seriously good. The crust is excellent and their daily special pizza is always amazing.
They also have avocado toast, stromboli, and deep dish focaccia.
Plank’s BBQ was probably my second favorite specialty restaurant on board (Sabatini’s is my number 1, Crown Grill is my number 3 – they’re all good), though we went after dark and I had a hard time getting a decent photo. 🙁
You order 4 different meats and they come with a side of chili, coleslaw, and beans. You’ll also get appetizers, soup or salad, and dessert included in cover charge. Guarantee you won’t leave hungry.
The pulled pork and tri-tip were the overwhelming favorites in my family.
Coffee & Cones is a favorite among everyone, obviously. Free soft serve ice cream all day, every day. If you don’t eat your weight in ice cream, you’re cruising wrong. 😉
You can also purchase ice cream sandwiches, if that’s more your style.
Drinks by the pool are a must and all of the bars do a great job.
My husband enjoyed the mojitos while I sipped margaritas all day.
I’ve cruised with Princess three times now, twice on the Caribbean Princess and once on the Ruby Princess. Every time I have thoroughly enjoyed the food.
Pro Tip: Their Chocolate Journeys desserts are the highlight and you should never pass one of those desserts up. 😉
Tell me, have you cruised with Princess before? What was your favorite restaurant or food onboard?

We are also Platinum with Princess (very easy to do once bitten by the cruise bug!), sailed on the Caribbean Princess previously and will be on her again in 2 weeks! I have already talked up the baked apples, banana bread and the chocolate croissants in the buffet to our family that is going.. as well as the banana bread and the creme brulee- we are looking forward to trying the new Marketplace buffet and the BBQ restaurant! Thanks for the info!

Oh my goodness – I need a trip like this! We’ve traveled a lot this year but none was relaxing like this. I’ve never been on a cruise but you really have sparked the fire! Good for you Karly – happy summer!

We Platinum members so obviously we love Princess. We really like the Burger and Fries!! Our favorite morning stop is the International Cafe. Really like that we can have a standing order of veggies on ice at the Club Class dining room. Helps us stay on track on our Weight Watchers journey.
