West coast cruises are the perfect way to explore what America has to offer – from wine country to Hawaii to Alaska, there is something out west for everyone to enjoy and I’ve teamed up with Princess to share the details with you!
You guys might have noticed that I’m a bit of a cruising nut. It’s honestly probably my favorite way to travel, because there is something new each and every day!
As of the writing of this post, I’ve been on a total of 7 cruises and my first ever cruise was just 7 years ago! I plan to keep that number climbing. 😉
Anyway, I’ve sailed with Princess multiple times – you can read a bit about my first experience with Princess, again when we sailed around Europe, and then most recently all the top foods to eat on a Princess ship!
Princess just reached out to me to let me know that the Royal Princess, one of their newest and most elegant ships, is making her West Coast debut in March of 2019. Now is the perfect time to book!
The Royal Princess was officially named in 2013 by Her Royal Highness, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge. How awesome is that?
I wanted to share a little bit about what to expect onboard the Royal Princess…
Delicious food. Obviously. Whether you do the Chef’s Table (highly recommend – you’ll never have room for more food the rest of the trip because the courses just keep coming, but it’s WORTH IT) or just grab dinner in the dining room, you will not be disappointed.
Our favorite restaurant is Sabatini’s. Homemade pasta. Crazy decadent desserts. Heaven.
Pro Tip: If you see something that says Chocolate Journeys, get it. Every time. Trust me.
Plenty of fun ports, from Hawaii to the Mexican Riviera, to the California coast, up to Alaska! I recommend taking a winery tour in Santa Barbara, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Loads of entertainment! We were very partial to Bingo, but there are lots of free things to do onboard from musical shows to movies under the stars. You’ll never be bored.
Pools, bars, a library, food, kids clubs, they have entertainment covered.
They’ve just revamped the kids centers as well, so these ships are great for all ages!
World Class Spa. The Royal Princess is home to Princess’s largest thermal suite yet and a dramatic hydro-therapy pool with a cascading rain shower and therapeutic air jets as well as an array of services and secluded couples treatment rooms. Time to relax!
I vote that you take a day to spend in the Sanctuary – the perfect place to just sit, relax, and completely escape for a day. It’s heavenly.
Overwater Sea Walk! Imagine the views from this 60-foot-long glass walkway standing 128 feet above the ocean at sunrise and sunset. If that doesn’t inspire you to take an evening (or early morning!) walk, I don’t know what will!
The views from anywhere on the ship are gorgeous, but I’m dying to check out that sea walk!
As I mentioned, I’ve sailed again and again and I never tire of it.
The magic of climbing aboard an elegant ship full of everything you could need from delicious food to loads of entertainment to the most comfy beds ever never gets old. And then when you wake up the next morning you’re in a new place just waiting to be explored.
Cruising is magic.
Big thanks to Princess for sponsoring this post!

Lucky you to have the opportunity to have pecans that close and that fresh! Theyโre up there with one of my faves! This cake looks super good, David. Iโve been itching to bake a cake lately (hubby and I have been watching The Great British Baking Show and that always inspires me). The cake looks so fluffy and love all the pecans on top.pc-hjelp

Hello!
I love the idea of everyone getting involved in the planning โ I so need to do that! And the Bob Evans mashed potatoes are crazy good! They are a staple at our house, but I havenโt tried the mac and cheese yet, but I will! Great tips!
