It’s hot and I’m whiny and sweaty and probably a little grumpy.
Seriously, you guys.
All year long I complain about the cold and then BAM. It’s 90 degrees out and I start daydreaming about Fall. It’s a really vicious cycle. Also, I’m a whiner.
I’ve just learned to embrace it. So has my family. I like to pretend that it’s part of my charm.
Anyway, I’m hot and I need lots of refreshing drinks, preferably made with fresh fruit and lots of ice.
These simple Strawberry Watermelon Spritzers are so quick to prepare and are totally refreshing on a hot summer day!
Bonus points: My kids hate lemon lime soda, which means that I get these all to myself.
Strawberry Watermelon Spritzer
Ingredients
- 10 medium strawberries enough for 1 cup of puree
- 1 1/2 cups watermelon enough for 1 cup of puree
- 1 cup ice
- 2 cups lemon lime soda
Instructions
- Add the strawberries, watermelon, and ice to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Add the soda, stir to combine, and serve in a sugar rimmed glass.

Priceless photo! We had a GORGEOUS weekend in VA, with sunshine and mild temps, even a tad bit chilly with the breeze. I wanted to be outside all day.
Today? It’s hot and I’m hibernating in the AC. I need one of these!

I’m thinking you could substitute club soda or some type of sparkling soda with simple syrup for the non lemon-lime drinkers of the family :). That way you can control the amount of sugar you like. Great pic!
