So, I figure there are two types of people out there. People who are Team Chipotle and people who are Team Qdoba. What team are you on?
I’m Team Qdoba. Their queso is pretty fab, so they win by default. If Chipotle would get on the cheese sauce bandwagon, it’d probably tip the scales in their favor. But, since they haven’t, Qdoba is my drug of choice. I pretty much always order the naked burrito with ground sirloin, queso, and lots of guac. I could eat it every day.
So anyway, my husband called from work the other day to ask what was for dinner.
“Homemade Qdoba,” I answered. Hello. I’m awesome. I made burrito bowls at home!
“Homemade Qdoba? Maybe tomorrow we can have cheeseburgers and you can call it Homemade McDonalds,” he responded.
Dude. Who does he think he is? He can’t just make fun of me like that. I mean, yes, some people might just call this a burrito bowl, but I call it homemade Qdoba. Don’t hate.
Anyway, I got a little crazy and made this amazing pulled pork that took just two ingredients and was cooked in the crockpot. I love easy dinners like this! I shredded the pork and served it in a bowl with rice, queso, salsa, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. Mix everything up together and it’s basically the most delicious meal ever. This pulled pork is also great in tacos or traditional burritos!
I cooked this in my Ninja Cooking System…it’s basically a slow cooker on steroids, you guys. You can roast, bake, slow cook, and sear all in one appliance. I’m really loving using this tool and have been slow cooking up a storm since getting it. More recipes to come soon! (I did receive the Ninja Cooking System free of charge, but all opinions are my own and I received no other compensation for writing about their product.)

I love the way your pulled pork and salsa verde looks! I’m making it right now
in my slow cooker. I did make a variation of this. I used chuck roast and a jar of red mild salsa added some green and red peppers and onions and cilantro. 8 hours on low setting. I reduced the liquid remaining in the slow cooker until a thick sauce consistency and mixed it into the meat.

Sounds delicious!

Well, I’ve got the salsa verde, Karly, since my farm share tomatillos and freshly roasted Hatch chiles from down the street are now happily mingling in jars in the pantry.
Just need room for pig.
I’ve never eaten at a Qdoba but it’s primarily because I have no idea how to pronounce it.
Thanks!

You had me at salsa verde pulled pork!! This looks incredible!

I’m with you. We had both Qdoba and Chipotle’s in the Denver area, but we are moving to Montrose, CO now that my wife and I are both retired. They have neither. I was starting to count up all of the things I would miss, but with Karly’s recipes, I think it’s going to work out just fine.
And Karly, I also agree that Qdoba should work on a Queso recipe. It’s just good marketing to offer what your customer base is looking for (let alone CRAVING)

This pork sounds so easy! I love recipes like this that can be used in so many different ways! We don’t have a Qdoba here. So Chipotle wins over Moe’s any day! I could eat it every day!
Kelsey says
Team Moe’s!! Maybe it’s just a southern thing.
Karly says
I’ve always wanted to try Moe’s, but don’t have one around here. 🙁
Becca @ Crumbs and Chaos says
Team Qdoba all the way!!! I can not describe how happy their queso makes me – it’s amazing 🙂 Love this incredibly easy meal!
Marcie says
This looks ridiculously good! I’ve never been to a Qdoba, so I either need to make this or find one stat. I think I will make this!
Megan {Country Cleaver} says
I’m on team EAT ALL OF THIS!!! So basically, yeah… gimme.
Meagan @ Scarletta Bakes says
Dang, girl! This recipe looks amazing! I’m just drooling over your pics. I’ve never been to Qdoba, so I guess that makes me Team Chipotle. I’d pick your slow cooker pork over either any day, though…
Cookbook Queen says
Totally jelly of your slow cooker!! And we don’t have a Chipotle OR Qdoba in my town…one of life’s greatest injustices, if you ask me.
Belinda @themoonblushbaker says
I sorta see Odoba as a naked burrito but then again, meals like this do not need to be compared. They are too good to have a comparison! That pulled pork looks delicious!
Pamela @ Brooklyn Farm Girl says
I’ve never had Qdoba so I can’t fairly judge although I will be on the lookout when traveling! I love this recipe, pinning – I’m a huge verde fan girl!
Joanne @ Fifteen Spatulas says
I’m a major Chipotle fan…but I have never had Qdoba before so I can’t say I like one more than the other. I’m SO making this. I’m obsessed with slow cooker pulled pork.
Kate says
Yum! I’m with you on Qdoba- their queso rocks!
Joanne says
Oh the peanut gallery comments…don’t you just love em? I’m a chipotle girl, but that might just be because we don’t have any qdobas in NYC. Maybe next time I get chipotle, I’ll just make a cheese sauce to put on top!
