No. No, you can not.
I mean, sandwiches are lunch food. S’mores are dessert food.
So, basically, I just turned s’mores into lunch food. I’ll wait while you all applaud.
Done? Mkay.
Oh, did I mention that I used Nutella for the chocolate portion of these sandwiches? Aaaaaand, there’s more applause.
So, anyway, did you guys know that National Pound Cake Day is a thing? Mm hmm. I thought you guys would already know that. You’re my kind of people. It’s March 4, in case you forgot.
The nice people at Sara Lee are kinda big fans of Pound Cake Day, so they emailed me and asked if I would want to create a recipe to share (which I did! S’mores sandwiches! Rock on!) and possibly hold a giveaway for you gorgeous people as a way to celebrate.
Grilled Pound Cake S'mores Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 4 thin slices Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake
- 2 tablespoons Nutella or 4 small chocolate pieces
- 2 tablespoons marshmallow fluff
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium low heat. Melt the butter in the pan.
- Spread Nutella on 2 slices of poundcake.
- Spread marshmallow fluff on the remaining 2 slices of poundcake.
- Top the pieces spread with Nutella with the pieces spread with marshmallow to make a sandwich.
- Place both sandwiches in the hot pan with the melted butter. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the pound cake is golden brown on bottom.
- Flip and cook another 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve immediately.

My favorite way to eat Pound Cake is with my mouth! Sorry, couldn’t resist that one!! Other than that I love to put strawberries & Cool whip on it, or just butter it some & grill it.

WHAT??!! Girl, you’re just killing me. I may or may not have just tried to lick my computer screen.

I’m never used pound cake for anything other than straight pound cake eating. This looks amazing,.
Emily {Pink Tiger in the Kitchen} says
I would venture to say that this is an anytime sandwich. I mean one could argue that Nutella is a breakfast food so that would make this a breakfast sandwich too!! How’s that to add to your justifications? ๐
And by the way…. LOVE Sara Lee poundcakes. Like no joke. I think they make the perfect bread for this!!
Crystal says
That looks divine! Honestly I think I have only used it for trifles.

I will be honest, I’m a simplest. Just a slice of poundcake, toasted with butter and some coffee. Lovely…. However! This looks so indulgent and ridiculous and wonderful I would for sure try it on a day where I can pretend that calories don’t count. My birthday is coming up….

I really like plain poundcake, but I’m also a fan with raspberries or strawberries on top.

Nope. I can’t stand it. Although I’m applauding that this is acceptable lunch food. YES! I love cubing pound cake and eating it straight from the freezer. Odd, right?
