This blog post is dedicated to the pile of pillows on the bed in room 4306 at Couples Tower Isle. I love you. I miss you. I want you back. 😉
Hi friends!
So, I’ve mentioned a few times that my husband and I visited Jamaica this month and now I want to tell you all about where we stayed! You don’t want to miss these details, because A) if you are planning a trip to the Caribbean, this will help you choose where to stay, and B) if you’re not planning a trip the Caribbean, you’ll want to start. 😉
We were lucky enough to be hosted by Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. This means that our stay was free of charge in exchange for me sharing details with you here. You’ll still get my honest opinions, as always!
So, the first thing you should know is that Couples Tower Isle is a smaller, more intimate all-inclusive beach resort in Ocho Rios that caters to couples. That means no single people and no kids. Because it’s a smaller resort, it also means there is hardly ever a wait for food or drinks, the staff remembers you by name, and there are plenty of beach chairs to choose from.
When they say “all-inclusive,” they are seriously not kidding around! It’s not just your food and drinks that are included at this resort – you’ll also get to go kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, and use their paddleboards!
Oh, and starting December 27, they’re offering ALL-INCLUSIVE SPA TREATMENTS. Unlimited, free spa treatments. Y’all, book here.
There is also a daily schedule that is PACKED with different activities to keep you busy and having a good time, ranging from dance classes to painting classes to massage classes!
Couples Tower Isle offers six restaurant options plus room service. We were shocked by how much we loved the food at the pool grill. Often, those little grills aren’t the best quality of food, but their jerk burgers, fried calamari, and jerk chicken were simply amazing.
I’ll be recreating the jerk burger for you shortly! My husband, on the other hand, has been whining daily about the lack of fried calamari currently in his life.
We also dined at Bayside, a gorgeous Asian restaurant set out over the water. It was a magical experience, both because of the views and because the food was just amazing and abundant. My husband even learned how to use chopsticks, so that was extra magical! 😉
And, yes, our kids thought it was hilarious that he went to Jamaica to learn to use chopsticks. Ha!
Our room was spacious, clean, and overlooked the ocean. The double patio doors slid open wide to open the room up, let in the light, and allow you to listen to the waves in bed. We both loved sitting on our private balcony and just gazing off into the sea.
But most importantly, was the bed comfy? Oh my gosh. We were making jokes to each other the whole trip about how we spent the nights comatose. We slept so good, because the mattresses were just right and there were an abundance of pillows ranging from soft to firm to big to small. It was heavenly.
The bathroom was modern and gorgeous with a large walk in shower and there was always plenty of hot water available.
The staff were all beyond friendly. They often greeted us by name, especially the bartenders. 😉 We may have enjoyed their free premium drinks quite often. And we were happy to note that they did not water their liquor down or serve really weak drinks. We actually commented quite a few times about how strong the drinks were – not something that I often see in an all-inclusive bar!
There was even an au naturel private island, if you’re the type who hates tan lines. 😉 You can see the little island in the above picture.
I really wanted to venture over there to check the island out, but I personally love a good tan line, if you know what I’m saying. I’ll let another more adventurous blogger share the details of that with you sometime. 😉
Would I recommend this resort to friends and family? Unequivocally yes. We plan to go back again ourselves sometime in the next year or two. It was a truly magical experience and I can honestly say that Couples Resorts are an all around good deal. Highly recommend!
They have two resorts in Ocho Rios and two resorts in Negril, so if you’re planning a trip to Jamaica I hope you’ll check them out and let me know what you think! Check out all four of the resorts here.
I’ll be back in a week or two with a recreation of that jerk burger I talked about. It was so good and I don’t think I could live without it in my life!

Hi!
My fiance and I are planning out our honeymoon, and we’re looking into CTI for our getaway. I am a little new to all-inclusive resorts, so I was hoping you could clear up a question for me:
Are all activities (i.e. snorkeling, glass boat tours, river falls tour, shopping tour, catamaran, Margaritaville, etc.) included in the all-inclusive price or are they an extra charge?
Thank you!
Karly says
Hi Jared! There are definitely things that are not included. Basically anything off property will not be included, as far as I know. Your best bet would be to reach out the resort and ask them. It’s been a few years since we’ve been and I’m sure some things have changed.

Hi Friends ,
I am Travelling to Jamaica for a week vacation in Mig August staying @CTI (Couples Tower Isle) .I would like to Know the comparison of Couples Slept Away which is in Negril vs CTI at Ocho rios . I have below clarifications
hows the Beach in CTI — Is it white sand beach?
Do we have beach chairs here at Ocho rios CTI ?
Do we have Long walking near CTI ?- I know Couple swept away has wide walking white sand beach .
Do we have Night Life at CTI in Ocho rios ?
I know Couples Swept Away is little more expensive than CTI .. would like to know if we regret going to CTI ?
Please advise
Thanks

Hi there!
The sand is white and beautiful, plenty of beach chairs, and there was always something going on in the evening though we admittedly went to bed fairly early. The beach was not that large at CTI, so it wasn’t a long walk along the beach. ๐
Hope you enjoy your trip!

Hi! Just a quick question…did you see many gay couples there and if so were they treated any differently? My soon to be wife and I are planning our honeymoon, but have been hearing a lot of mixed reviews on gay couples being welcome. Your response would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Karly says
Hi Sheena!
I don’t recall seeing any gay couples at all – but I have no idea if that’s because there weren’t any or if that’s because I just didn’t notice. Sorry I can’t help more and I’m especially sorry this is something you have to worry about. I hope you guys have an amazing time wherever you go!

How is beach ? ย Sand sif5 , no seaweed ? Beach looks small ?
Karly says
The resort is much smaller than other all inclusive resorts I’ve been to and the beach was plenty large enough for the number of guests. Sand was beautiful and so was the water. No large amounts of seaweed. ๐

Thanks for the review! I have been second guessing myself and agonizing for weeks over our choice. Its a bit pricy and over our budget and i won’t hear the last of it if it does not meet expectation!
Karly says
Hope you have a great trip!

Myself, my husband Kevin, and another couple just booked an 8 day trip at CTI in January, and after reading this, I am even more excited! Thanks for sharing! The reviews always give a person a wishy-washy feeling of “hopefully it is as great as all the good reviews say” but I have confidence that it will be awesome after reading this, so THANK YOU!!!
Karly says
Oh goodness, you guys are going to have such a good time! Enjoy!!

Just wondering, was there any downsides to this resort? Looked at some tripadvisor reviews and there was a lot of talk about mold and ants. My wife and I are 60+ and we have never been to Jamaica and don’t want to encounter any issue that could cause us health issues.
Karly says
Hi Jack!
We didn’t have any issues with mold or bugs at all! The resort was honestly lovely and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. Our only complaint was that it’s quite a hike from the airport, but Couples provides transportation each way so even that wasn’t a big deal. ๐ Highly recommend!

Canโt wait to see your burger recreation. Thanks you!

Just got back last night from CTI and am already searching for their recipes, and came to your site. Your review was dead on, glad you got to enjoy it, especially for free. The food was awesome, I already miss fish for breakfast, looking to make Ackee and saltfish. Can’t wait to see your jerk hamburger recipe, didn’t try that there.

So happy to know that you thoroughly enjoyed your time in Jamaica. I am Jamaican and I can assure you that though I have not visited Couples Resort, I have stayed at similar all-inclusives hotels there and the pampering is the same for foreigners and local guests. It’s fantastic! Thank you for the great pictures – they were lovely to see and be reminded of the beauty of my country especially as I now live in another country and miss Jamaica terribly. You made my Christmas !!
Karly says
Oh, glad I could bring a little bit of home to you! ๐ I can imagine you miss Jamaica very much – it’s a beautiful country and the people all seem so friendly!

Ahhhh, there’s no vacation like a “Couples” vacation! It truly is the next level in pampering mixed with the Jamaican hospitality. ย Still our favorite trip ever. I could hear reggae music playing in my mind while reading your post. ย Can’t wait to see your burger recreation. ย (We felt the same way about the beach side grill food – Delicious!)
Karly says
Yes! My husband is now obsessed with reggae!
