The ULTIMATE EASY BAKED BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP is perfect for game day or any get together! Tender chunks of chicken, loads of buffalo sauce, and plenty of cheese make this one irresistible!
I may not know who is playing in the Superbowl this year (Does anyone? Have the teams been chosen? Do they even get chosen? How does this thing you call “football” even work?), but I know darn good and well that I’m going to be required to make thirty-seven different appetizers and dips for the game.
Oh, yes. My husband had that written into our marriage vows.
“I promise to love you forever ’til death to us part so long as you make me snacks on Superbowl Sunday.”
The wedding guests had never seen a more ridiculous wedding before.
Anyway, this Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip is perfect for the big game or for anytime you need a tasty dip. Tender chunks of chicken, creamy and melty cheese, plus plenty of buffalo sauce…what’s not to love about this?
We serve this with an assortment of veggies and crackers. It’s even delicious spread on our beer bread!
Be sure to try our crockpot buffalo chicken dip too! And if you love spice, our hot honey wings are always popular.
Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients:
Chicken – Some recipes call for canned chicken, but we like the flavor and texture of fresh chicken best. A rotisserie chicken is perfect here!
Cream Cheese
Ranch Dressing – We usually just use Hidden Valley, or choose your own!
Blue Cheese Dressing – You can substitute with more ranch if you don’t like blue cheese!
Buffalo Sauce – We use Frank’s Red Hot. It adds the perfect hit of spice.
Crumbled Blue Cheese – You all may know that I am personally not a blue cheese fan, so I sub in cheddar when I’m making this for my family. For others, we go the blue cheese route.
What Readers are Saying!
“A friend of mine brought this dip to a party recently…DELISH! I was going to ask her for the recipe, but now I don’t have to! Thanks!” – Carla W.
How To Make Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe:
Mix: This is the best buffalo chicken dip recipe because it is about as simple as it gets, assuming you will be using a rotisserie chicken or already have pre-cooked chicken ready to go.
Shred up the chicken and add it to a mixing bowl with the cheeses, the dressings, and your hot sauce!
Mix all of the ingredients together until they are well combined.
Bake: If necessary you can go ahead and transfer the dip mix to an oven safe dish and start baking! It won’t take long, only about twenty minutes.
Once it has finished baking you can serve this easy buffalo chicken dip with your favorite chips, crackers, bread or whatever you dip with!
We love dipping celery and carrots or King’s Hawaiian bread in buffalo chicken dip. It’s also delicious spread on crackers or crostini. Tortilla chips make a great dipping option as well, but be sure to get a thick style of tortilla chip to hold up to the dip.
Absolutely! Prepare the dip according to instructions and then cover with foil and refrigerate prior to baking. When you’re ready to serve, just bake this off as instructed, adding an extra 10 minutes of bake time if it’s cold from the fridge.
We often skip the blue cheese entirely and swap it for shredded cheddar. Double up on the ranch dressing in place of the blue cheese dressing.

If you’re hungry for more buffalo chicken, check out these Buffalo Chicken Taquitos! They’re very similar to the dip, but all rolled up in a tortilla and baked! Perfect for a quick game day lunch.

I actually ate this dip at a party last night and although I am a food snob they made it with canned chicken and it was delicious

This is a great recipe. I made a little alteration to it and it was even better, if that’s possible. Try the garlic and herb cheese spread at your local market in place of half of the cream cheese. I use Alouette cheese spread.
Also, I use the grilled chicken breast strips in the prepared food section and chop them into small pieces. A great way to forgo the canned chicken, but not have to cook the chicken yourself.

oooh man I love this stuff. I agree, canned chicken is terrible…I usually poach a couple chicken breasts and use that. Also, I use all ranch dressing and sharp cheddar cheese instead of the blue cheese. yum yum yummm!

I found this recipe via the Google and it was a HUGE hit at my friend’s Super Bowl party. HUGE.
I used Crystal hot sauce (the market was sold out of Frank’s), and I used bleu cheese (I love bleu cheese). I also doubled the recipe (which I feared would be too much, but since it was such a huge hit, we almost ran out!).
Thanks so much for posting this! I plan on making this again and trying more of your recipes!

I am without a doubt making this. Done.

My boyfriend was the 1st to introduce me to this awesome dip about 2 years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. Being the foodie I am, I can’t believe that somwhere, somehow in my 25 years of life prior to him no one ever made me aware of such a creation. And I love buffalo chicken wings!

I love this dip but I’ve never had it on bread before…going to have to try that as its good on ANYTHING!
I like football well enough, but the food is always the best part ๐

fact: canned meat should be reserved for beloved pets.
although i’ve watched my fair share of football, i have no idea what’s going on this season. i’d much rather be in the kitchen anyway. ๐

E-mail us and we’ll send you a set of our fun Superbowl Conversation Confetti questions. It’s especially fun for the women who don’t care about the game and you’ll be surprised at how many men will answer them, too. They can’t help but shout their thoughts to: “In bed, are you the quarterback, a linebacker, or the kicker?” Laughter goes will with Buffalo Chicken Dip!

There is a place here called Back 9 BBQ who tried to market their version of this very dip. I found some and we thought it was like crack too!!! They have since pulled their dip off the market pending some FDA approval or something so I REALLY appreciate you posting this. Now I don’t have to wait for them to remarket their dip!! I can make my very own!!
Thanks again!

Hmmm…dip is delicious. This one sounds really good. I agree – canned meat just seems wrong. But blue cheese is delicious.
And all I know is that the Vikings WON’T be playing at the Superbowl. ๐ I’m not a big football fan (watching it would be a LAST resort), but it would have been nice to hear that the Vikings won the Superbowl. For once.

Lol at the marriage vow. Dip is very important!

Just so you know, Karly, the teams playing the Superbowl will be the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts. That way you can sound all smart & stuff when someone asks, LOL!
Until I got married, I never knew who was playing, never cared, just used it as an excuse to throw a party…we’ll have to try this dip out this year, it looks yummilicious!
