Smoothies are the perfect way to work some fruit into your diet too if you don’t eat a lot of fresh fruit. Two of our favorite fruits and the best combo (in my opinion) is the strawberry pineapple smoothie. That sweet, tart combination is perfect. Serve it up with some monkey bread muffins!
These strawberry pineapple smoothies are ready in about 5 minutes and so easy when you use frozen or canned fruit. Fresh fruit doesn’t take much longer to prepare either though and it tastes best so we use it when we can.

♥ What We Love About This Recipe:
- Easy: Just toss everything in a blender and blend! What could be easier? These smoothies are so simple to make and and you can customize them with all kinds of other fruits or ingredients. Throw in some blueberries, add extra yogurt, or add a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
- Nutritious: A breakfast smoothie is a great way to start the day. Most of us probably don’t get enough fresh fruit or fiber in our diet. Breakfast smoothies are the answer! They’re also just as good in the afternoon or for an evening snack too.
Ingredient Notes:
Strawberries – You can use either fresh or frozen strawberries when preparing the smoothie. Fresh may have better flavor but frozen is quick and easy too. Either type works well here. Use your leftover strawberries in our strawberry popsicles!
Pineapple – You can use fresh chunks of pineapple, canned pineapple, or frozen pineapple! Feel free to use whichever you prefer or is simplest. If using canned get the kind in pineapple juice and not syrup to cut back on unnecessary sugar.
Pineapple Juice – You don’t need much, about a quarter cup. If you’re using canned pineapples in pineapple juice you can use the juice from the can!
Greek Yogurt – Either vanilla flavored Greek yogurt or plain Greek yogurt can be used here. It’ll add rich, creamy flavor and texture to the smoothie. Plus protein!
Honey – To sweeten this smoothie up we’re using some honey! You can add more or less honey to your taste to make it as sweet as you like.
Ice Cubes – For blending with the other smoothie ingredients. If you use frozen strawberries instead of fresh you can cut the number of ice cubes used in half!
Other – Freshly sliced strawberries and pineapples are perfect for garnishing the smoothies, or feel free to swap out or add in other fruits. You can adjust many of the ingredients used here. See below for variations/substitutions.
Substitutions & Variations:
Feel free to customize this smoothie by adding other fruits such as banana, mango, or kiwi for additional flavor dimensions.
You could also swap the pineapple juice for coconut water, if desired. Some strawberry pineapple smoothie recipes also use orange juice instead of pineapple juice. I’ve never tried it but it sounds good!
To make it a protein-packed breakfast option, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder to the smoothie mixture! Add some greens like spinach or kale for a big boost of nutrition.
You can adjust the sweetness according to your taste preference by adding more or less honey or using ripe, naturally sweet fruits.
For an even creamier texture, you can substitute the pineapple juice with the milk of your choice.
High Powered Blender
We use our Blendtec blender to make smoothies, frozen margaritas, soups, and more! This blender is high powdered, easy to use, and has an array of settings.

Add all of the ingredients to your blender, starting with the pineapple juice, then yogurt, then fruit for the best blending results.
Pop the lid on and blend until smooth and creamy. Add more pineapple juice or honey to reach the texture and taste you like.

These strawberry pineapple smoothies are best enjoyed freshly made, but you can store them in the fridge for up to 24 hours if necessary. There will be a bit of separation, but you can stir it back together.
You can freeze your smoothies in mason jars (leave an inch of room at the top for expansion) for up to 3 months. Thaw on the counter for an hour or two before drinking.
Glases with Lids & Straws
We love these cute glasses! They come with bamboo lids and glass straws, plus a straw cleaner. My teenager thinks these are very aesthetic and loves to instagram her smoothies and coffees in this glasses, too – so bonus points for that! 😉
Recipe FAQs:
I think most fruit combinations work well together but some are definitely better than others. Strawberry and pineapple are a great combination! The flavors complement each other, with the acidity in the pineapple enhancing the flavors of the strawberry.
Any type of berry will be a great addition to this pineapple smooth. Banana, mango, and papaya are all delicious as well.
Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup strawberries fresh or frozen
- 1 cup pineapple chunks fresh, canned, or frozen
- 1/2 cup vanilla or plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon honey adjust to taste
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice

- Sliced strawberries or pineapples for garnish
Instructions
- If using fresh strawberries, wash them well, and hull the strawberries. If using fresh pineapple, remove the peel and core, and chop into small chunks.
- In a blender, combine the strawberries, pineapple chunks, Greek yogurt, honey, pineapple juice, and ice cubes. Most blenders work best if you add the liquid first, then yogurt, and then the fruit.

- Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey if necessary. Blend again briefly to incorporate any additional ingredients.
