Boneless Ham – We’re starting with a whole boneless ham. You can use any sized ham you like for this recipe, but keep in mind that it needs to fit your crockpot.
Honey Glaze – This sticky sweet glaze for our slow cooker ham recipe is a quick and easy mix of honey, butter, and brown sugar that you’ll melt together and then brush on.

Variations:
- Ham – Use a spiral sliced ham or a half ham here. You really can’t mess this up and the cook times will be similar. As ham is already fully cooked, your goal is to reheat the ham in the crockpot without drying it out.
- Glaze – You can easily swap the honey for maple syrup.
- Spice – Spice it up a bit by adding a little cayenne pepper to your honey glaze.
- Pineapple – Cover your ham in sliced pineapple for a crockpot pineapple ham situation.
Step By Step Instructions:
Add the butter, honey, and brown sugar to a small sauce pan. Heat over low heat until melted together. When the sweet glaze is all combined, brush it over the top of the ham liberally! Don’t use it all though, save some for brushing on later during the cook.
Let your ham slow cook on low for about 5 hours depending on the size of your ham (ours is 8 pounds here). The internal temperature should reach 140 degrees when it’s done. Base with the glaze every 30-60 minutes for the best flavor.

I use crockpot liners to keep clean up easy. There will be honey/sugar in your slow cooker for a few hours and that can cause a bit of a sticky mess, so using the liner is really recommended in this case.

Help! My Ham Won’t Fit!
Did you accidentally buy a ham that’s a bit too large for your slow cooker? No problem!
Nestle the ham inside as best you can, glaze it liberally, and then cover the slow cooker tightly with 1-2 layers of foil. Place the lid over the top of the foil to help hold the foil in place and keep in as much heat as possible.
Be prepared for your ham to take longer using this method as the foil likely won’t trap the heat in quite as well as the lid does.

Honey Glazed Crockpot Ham
Ingredients
- 5-8 pound boneless whole ham see note
- 3/4 cup honey
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
- Line a 6-8 quart slow cooker with a crockpot liner.
- Place the ham in the lined crockpot and set the heat to low.
- Add the honey, butter, and brown sugar to a small sauce pan over low heat and cook, stirring often, until melted and combined.
- Liberally brush the glaze over the ham.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 hours, brushing with the glaze every 30 – 60 minutes. You likely won't need all of the glaze.
- Ham should reach an internal temperature of 140 degrees before serving. Cook time will vary based on the size of your ham and your slow cooker, but should be close to the 5 hour mark. If the ham is finished before you're ready to serve, turn to "keep warm" setting on your slow cooker.
